A Night in Africa will bring fun and celebrities to the award-winning park during every Saturday this month.

On these evenings, visitors will be to enjoy an evening safari stroll as the park stays open until 9pm.

Starting tomorrow (Saturday) and for each Saturday night this month, the park will come alive from 5pm with African music, fire pits, dancing, amazing acrobats, live performers and children’s entertainment and some special guest appearances.

Getting things underway this weekend will be Michaela Strachan, presenter of BBC1 shows The Really Wild Show and Countryfile, and Reggie ‘N’ Bollie from X Factor.

The excitement keeps rolling with S Club Party – featuring original band members Bradley and Jo – on August 13 and X Factor’s 4th Impact on August 20.

The last of the events, on August 27, will see another animal superstar as Britain’s Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudsey join the entertainment.

In addition to the usual catering outlets, there will be a barbecues as well as face-painting and story-telling.

Visitors will also be able to attend evening talks by the rangers in the different animal reserves, and enjoy the new interactive show Big Bugs Live as well as other events and attractions across the park.

John Minton, chief executive at the park, said: “We are delighted to be staging these family evenings during the summer and there will be lots of attractions around the park.

“It will be great fun for all the family and we’ve got some fantastic entertainment lined up for our guests to enjoy while they experience the unique atmosphere of the wildlife park into the evening.”
