Girlguiding meeting hears about busy year

Members of the Girlguiding Worksop Division met in Carlton last week for their annual general meeting.

Following the business part of the event at the Parish Centre, members found out more about what some of the girls had been up to during the year.

Katie Cooper, Josie Crofts and Beth Stuckey spoke about their trip to an international camp in Poland, where they were representatives of Notts Girlguiding, before several girls performed.

Beth, Jenny Stephenson and Phoebe Riggs all performed songs which had won them prizes at the Walesby’s Got Talent Camp in June.

A spokesman for the Worksop Division said the number of members had grown during the year.

The spokesman added: “But there are still many girls waiting to join rainbows, brownies and guides.”

“We desperately need some more female adult help (18 years or over), so we can reduce these waiting lists. It is not necessary to become a qualified leader, but for anyone wishing to do so, a training programme is available.”
