Getting close to nature

A GROUP of disabled children and young people got close to nature last week at the National Trust’s Clumber Park.

The educational activity day, organised by Core Children’s Services, was an opportunity to explore the great outdoors and learn more about nature.

The group took part in a range of outdoor activities including pond dipping and bug hunting, before enjoying a picnic in the 4,000 acre park.

Kitted out with wellies and fishing nets, the youngsters examined the fascinating habitat of plants and animals.

The day was a great source of fascination with ample opportunity to get involved and discover more about British wildlife.
