Get your wellies out!

Children, staff and volunteers at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice are urging families to pull on their wellies and take part in a special event at Clumber Park next month.

The Big Wellie Walk is taking place on Sunday 16th September in aid of the North Anston charity.

All participants need is a pair of wellies, which can range from gardening ones, a festival pair and a pair used to walk to school. The charity has even had some wellies signed by the cast of ITV’s Emmerdale especially for the event.

The autumn stroll is perfect for little legs too, so it promises to be a great family day out.

Sarah Champion, chief executive of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice said: “We would love everyone to come and take part in this great outdoor event which will raise money for the hospice.”

“It costs £3 million every year to provide the services to care for local children with a shortened life expectancy and their families, and we receive no statutory government funding. It is only with help and support from the community with events such as this that we can continue to serve as many children as we do.”

Tickets are £10 for adults, £5 for children or £24 for a family ticket (two adults and three children). The price includes free parking at Clumber Park on the day and a free t-shirt.
