Then there is the art club which is a gentle introduction to art – no formal instruction is given but advice is always available if it is needed.

There are opportunities for participants to do their own thing or if they feel more comfortable they can follow a set project or even experiment with something completely different.

New members are always very welcome at the Thursday art club which is led by resident artist at the Hub, Cath Ray.

And every Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm during the summer holidays there will be a small and friendly kids art club which will be a lot of fun as well as being educational with a different project to have a go at every week.

Sessions are £5 per child and can be booked individually or as a block of six.

It is not all for the children either, there are summertime art sessions for adults and teens which cater for all levels of ability.

These will be on Mondays from 1pm to 3pm and again on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Still-life, portraits, buildings and townscapes are just some of the subjects covered in these sessions.
