Generous donation to children

A FATHER from Kiveton has made a generous donation to ill children in hospital this Christmas.

Barry Bull visited Rotherham Hospital along with his wife Tracy and daughter Vickie to hand out festive gifts to youngsters.

Dressed as a Power Ranger, Barry brought delight to patients and their families as he gave out gifts including sweets, colouring sets and cars and dolls.

Tracy and Vickie also got into the Christmas spirit by dressing up as a Christmas elf and ladybird.

The family decided to collect and hand out the gifts following their own experiences of the ward. Their youngest daughter Corteney was recently admitted into hospital for a short spell.

Barry collected gifts and donations from local Rotherham businesses and donated them to Rotherham Hospital Charity.

The charity then invited Barry along to the hospital to give out the gifts in person.

“It’s been brilliant to meet the children on the ward. It gives us great pleasure to bring a smile to someone who hasn’t smiled for a while,” said Barry.

Barry plans to continue to fundraise for Rotherham Hospital Charity and aims to be able to raise enough cash to purchase snooker tables and other large toys for the Children’s Ward’s play areas.
