Acis was awarded the Committed to Renewable Technologies award based on their partnership working to help tackle fuel poverty, using a ‘whole house’ approach and tenant involvement in installing renewable energy heating systems and insulation measures.

Glen Vardy, Asset Manager for Acis, said: “There is no point in providing a modern, efficient and controllable heating and hot water system to a poorly insulated, drafty building.”

“To ensure the new system delivers affordable heating we have adopted a whole house approach.”

“In addition to the new heating, old drafty windows and doors are being replaced with new energy efficient units.”

“Loft insulation is also being topped up to exceed current Building Regulation standards.”

“We are always pleased when we can invest and help with reducing fuel poverty and this project provides us with a great opportunity to benefit customers and the environment.”

“Customers are now seeing and feeling the benefits of a new technology which works to reduce fuel bills and gives more control on their heating and hot water in their homes.”

Acis own and manage over 5,500 homes across Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

The Acis Group, initially known as West Links Housing, were established in 1999 to take over the management of West Lindsey District Council’s rented housing stock.
