The event has proven to be a great success in recent years and the event’s organisers, Langleys Solicitors, are already accepting applications for this year’s awards.

The awards are the ideal opportunity to celebrate your business, raise your business profile, meet with old friends and give your employees a well deserved pat on the back.

Last year, a record number of entries were received from local businesses and this year’s awards are expected to be just as competitive, with businesses competing for the top spot in eight different categories.

Last year saw the welcome introduction of a new awards category, Apprentice of the Year which will be returning again this year.

Last year, this category proved to be the most popular Awards category in its five year history.

Other categories include Business of the Year.

Aleksandra Tusien of Langleys said: “The quantity and quality of applications we received last year was truly astounding.”

“It is a real testament to the commitment and passion of all businesses in the Gainsborough area.”

Last year’s Business of the Year award went to R H Smith and Sons (Wigmakers) Limited, better known as Smiffy’s.

Other winners included Emmalooos, KAL Designs Limited, Gainsborough Furniture and Resource Centre, Sandra’s Flower Studio, Mike Johnson of Gelder Group who won Business Person of the Year and Jordan Phillips of Galatia LLP who beat off strong competition to win Apprentice of the Year.

The Gainsborough Business Awards could not take place without the sponsors, who put a considerable amount of time and effort into judging the entries.

The sponsors this year include Langleys, Ideafuel Creative, Wright Vigar, Ping, Freewatt, West Lindsey District Council, Gainsborough College and The White Heather.

And one of last year’s winner, Sandra’s Flower Studio, will be sponsoring the Awards for the first time.

Gainsborough businesses have until Friday 14th August to get their applications in.

The winners will be announced at a black-tie evening which is being held at the White Heather near Caenby Corner on Thursday 17th September.

Entry for all categories is free.
