Gainsborough: The Salvation Army Craft Club has presented residents of Redcote Care Home with a selection of blankets and bed socks

Gainsborough craft club presented some of their work to staff and residents at Redcote Care Home in Lea near Gainsborough.

This is part of a new initiative for the club for 2015.

The craft club started back in 2012 and has been agreat success so far.

Ann Betts said: “Lots of other projects have been supported including small knitted garments for the Neo Natal and special needs units in Derby Royal Infirmary, jumpers for children in Romania and Africa, trauma dolls for Lincs Police, gloves for homeless people, as well as making items for the annual Craft Fayre.”

The craft club is held every Thursday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at the Salvation Army in Beaumont Street, Gainsborough.

Newcomers are welcomed.

Ann said: “Not only is it a very productive group, but more importantly it is a very caring group, where strong bonds of friendship have been formed and where you can get real support.”

“They say that it is far better to give than to receive and we really hope that we get the support we need to carry on with thr work we are doing.”

“We hope this new venture will get support from as many people as possible throughout the town.”

“Either to donate wool or to knir or crochet six inch squares and donate them for this worthwhile cause.”
