Samantha and the students discussed current topics about the town, including the upcoming Gainsborough in Bloom competition.

The students from CLIP will be lending a hand and supporting this project by helping maintain areas around the town and creating some new colourful displays.

They will also have the opportunity to learn some horticultural techniques and work with some experts within the field.

Course tutor, Sarah-Jayne Kidd, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for all of the students; it will give them something to talk about during any job interviews and, most importantly, they will develop new skills which they can be confident about using.”

Flare is a programme based at The Foundry Learning Centre, for 16-18-year-olds who wish to build their skills, confidence and qualifications in a variety of subjects including maths and English.

There are still places available for anyone who would like to join. For more information email Sarah at [email protected].
