Gainsborough: Scouts take to the water for an island adventure
This year has been incredible for Explorer Scouts in Gainsborough, both individually, and as part of the drive to encourage the Scout Association’s 2018 Vision which is that Scouting will be shaped by young people in partnership with adults, with young people driving decision making and to stimulate new thinking.
One of the great events over the last 12 months was when 20 Explorer Scouts took adventure to the next level by camping on an island, 15 miles from Gainsborough. at Girton Sailing Club. The Explorers took part in a mixture of water and land based activities whilst also completing the first module of the Young Leader training scheme.
