Gainsborough: Riverside Festival gets underway
Hundreds of people were in Gainsborough this morning as the 12th Riverside Festival got underway.
The colourful parade left All Saints Church to the sound of banging drums and made its way past the Old Hall, through Market Place and onto Sanders Yard.
There the Mayor of Gainsborough Coun Lesley Rollings and the chair of West Lindsey District Council Irmgard Parrot took to the stage to officially open the festival.
There are stalls, activities and bands going on all day, culminating in a fireworks display at 10.30pm tonight.
