Colin McFarlane, who is best known as the voice of The Cube, will be acting as virtual quizmaster for the Big Lincolnshire Quiz Night.

Lincs, Co-op’s Member Engagement Manager, Richard Whittaker, said: “We’re over the moon to have Colin on board, I think having him as our virtual quizmaster will really add some excitement to the night.”

The quiz will have a Lincolnshire twist and subjects will include food, history and people.

Richard added: “We’ll be testing what people know about where they live. It’s going to be a really fun evening and a great way to celebrate everything that’s great about our county.”

People can get a ticket to any of the events for £3, while they’ll be available to dividend card holders for just £2. The price includes entry as well as a drink on arrival and refreshments during a half-time break that have been sourced locally. Tickets are available to book at www.lincolnshire.coop/membership/adult-members/the-big-lincolnshire-quiz-night/. Places at the events must be booked in advance and competitors can either sign up as a team, or register individually to be assigned a team.

There are vouchers up for grabs for the teams who know the most about yellowbelly life at each of the four events.

At the end of the night one team will be crowned the overall winner with each member of bagging a copy of the Lincoln Monopoly board game.

It’s not the only way the Society will be celebrating Lincolnshire Day, with food stores also offering a sampling of local produce, a flag game to win Lincolnshire treats and a prize draw for members to win a Batemans Brewery experience break. Customers can get involved in the fun between 2pm and 6pm in all Lincolnshire Co-op food stores.
