Two men have appeared in court today (Tuesday 7th July) charged in connection with an alleged house burglary in Gainsborough.

Adam Clifton, 25, and Liam Fountain, 27, spoke only to confirm their names, dates of birth and addresses during a five minute hearing at Lincoln Magistrates Court.

The two men are accused of carrying out a domestic house burglary in Linden Terrace, Gainsborough, on 6th July.

It is alleged the pair stole property to a value unknown including electrical items, knives, a model car and CD’s.

Both men are alleged to have committed the day time burglary while the occupier, Hayley Weaver, was not in the property.

No pleas were entered and magistrates committed the case for trial at Lincoln Crown Court at a later date.

Both men will appear at Lincoln Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Monday, 20th July.

Fountain, of Clinton Terrace, Gainsborough, was granted bail on condition he does not enter Linden Terrace or contact Hayley Weaver directly or by social media.

Clifton, of Linden Terrace, Gainsborough, was remanded in to custody until his next court appearance.
