The two markets combined will create one bigger and better monthly attraction at the Yard with the first combined market due to take place on April 9, with a range of fresh local produce and hand-made crafts and gifts.

The Country Living market used to run from March until September throughout the year but the decision was made to merge the two markets after feedback from traders who were keen to see one large monthly market.

Alan Turner, trader from Axholme Premium Beef, said: “I have been trading at markets for more than 40 years and I think that having the craft and food markets joined together is a great idea for all the regular traders at Marshall’s Yard.”

Annabel Plumtree, from the Marshall’s Yard team, said: “We are really looking forward to joining both markets together. We have some great quality traders, both food and craft and they will really complement each other whilst also making each monthly market much bigger and better.

“Each market throughout the year will also have something a little extra and different – for example February’s market we will be focusing on Pancake Day and Valentine’s Day, with some special traders joining us.”
