Gainsborough: Man was punched and knocked to the ground during attack

Lincs Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked on New Year’s Day.

The assault happened in the Pingle Hill and Middlefield Lane area of Gaisborough between 3am and 4am on New Year’s Day.

A man was attacked by two others and punched and knocked to the ground and money stolen from him.

The two ran off towards Marshalls Yard.

The victim needed treatment for a black eye and cuts and bruises.

Anyone who was in the area and saw the incident or can provide any information should contact police on 101 and leave a message for DC Tina Kennedy on ext 6238

The males are described as white, slim and wearing a light tracksuit and the second man was of a similar build wearing a dark tracksuit.
