A dog from Gainsborough has been chosen as one of the top entries in a national competition.
Holly, a seven-year-old Border Collie, is listed as a front-runner in National Accident Helpline’s #Wunderdogs competition.
Holly’s owner Rachael Taylor, 37, said: “We have had Holly since a puppy. She’s very well trained, she goes to her own area in the garden to use the toilet.
“If she is a little bit naughty, she takes herself off to the naughty step.
“At night, she growls at her dad until he moves off the sofa so she can sit with me, her mum.
“Once, she met a seal in the sea on our East Coast. They just stared at each other until the seal swam away.
“Holly is my shadow and follows me everywhere. She loves playing ‘tennis ball’ and always brings it back to be thrown again. She is a big part of our family.”
#Wunderdogs is open for new entries until August 10, with prizes including a luxury dog hamper, puppy training classes and a £100 PDSA gift card.
The competition, which is designed to highlight responsible dog ownership, is being run in partnership with vet charity PDSA, who have helped to create free guides: An Owner’s Guide to Good Dog Behaviour and A Guide to Introducing Dogs to Babies and Children.
