Gainsborough: Gainsborough Market is the ‘real deal’

Thirty-five of the county’s regular markets and car boots, including Gainsborough, are now signed up to the national ‘Real Deal’ campaign, where organisers work closely with Lincolnshire Trading Standards to make sure fake and illicit items are not being sold to people.

Emma Wheeler, senior trading standards officer, said: “Markets are a fantastic British tradition and they bring great economic and social benefits to our local communities.”

“They are often at the heart of local communities and are a fantastic place for families and visitors to have a browse and find some bargains.”

“Through the ‘Real Deal’ scheme we work closely with markets and car boots across the county to ensure they remain safe environments for consumers to shop.”

“If you see a ‘real deal’ sign at your local market or car boot, you can be confident that you are buying genuine products and you are not being ripped off.”

“We are currently working with other organisers who have expressed an interest in joining the ‘Real Deal’ scheme, and we are keen to hear from others who want to assure their customers it is a safe place to shop.”
