Gainsborough: Elderly woman assaulted on her doorstep

A man in his 40s knocked on the door of the woman’s home at McIntyre Court on Lea Road around 2.15pm on Friday and asked her for a glass of water,

When she gave him one he threw it in her face, grabbed her arm and pushed her to the ground demanding money.

The man ran left empty handed. The elderly woman was left shook up by her ordeal but managed to alert police. She was taken to hospital, but is expected to make a full recovery.

The man is described as white, in his late 40s, medium build, 5ft 6” with dark medium length hair. He was wearing a dark duffle court.
