The festive meal will be held on Christmas Day at Gainsborough House, Parnell Street starting with coffee, tea and mince pies at 11 am.

Now in its 38th year, the Christmas lunch is provided free of charge thanks to generous donations from the local community.

They can be sent to chairman Michael Wragg, care of David Belton at Gainsborough House Community Centre, 18 Parnell Street, Gainsborough, DN21 2NB.

The committee is also looking for volunteer car drivers who can give up a little of their time to help transport guests to and from the event.

Anyone who expects to be on their own and would like to be a guest at the lunch can pick up an invitation letter at Gainsborough House Community Centre or by calling 01427 811160.

Applications to attend must be returned to Gainsborough House by Monday 9th December.
