Gainsborough: Construction trainee takes top spot

A Gainsborough construction trainee is celebrating having been named the UK’s top painting and decorating trainee at the national final of SkillBuild, the UK’s largest multi-trade competition.

Sandie Webster, 30, took first place in her category following a three day final at the Skills Show at Birmingham’s NEC last week.

Sandie, who is self employed and attends Lincoln College, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have won.”

“The competition was tough, but it’s been worth all the hard work and preparation.”

“I’d like to thank my college for all their support and help and also everyone at SkillBuild for a great competition.”
