The new scheme will see Barratt Homes open a savings account in the name of every new baby born at the sites with a gift of £100.

Michael Goodwin, Sales Manager for Barratt Homes Yorkshire East, said: “We are really passionate about this scheme – and the support that it lends to families on the development.”

“We do everything we can to design our properties to reflect the changing and dynamic lifestyles of the families who live in them and we wanted to go that one step further and support expectant families.”

“We don’t just want to build houses; we want to create communities and we know that young families are really important to delivering that.”

“Therefore, we hope that this brilliant trust fund idea will signal to those planning to buy homes and start families that a Barratt home is a place for both.”

“We hope that the £100 will kick start the savings for new Barratt babies.”

The initiative, which is the first of its kind in the UK, serves as a demonstration of Barratt Homes’ commitment towards providing not simply the housing that is ideal for young and growing families, but also the quality of life and lifestyle brought by thriving communities.

The innovative scheme is being launched across the East Yorkshire region and is the largest annual celebration of families and positive family values in the UK.
