Fire crews were called at around 7.25am on Friday 17th April to the former site of Thompson’s in Summergangs Lane, Gainsborough.

There were two fires, which Lincs Fire and Rescue believe were started deliberately, one in a skip and one amongst the scrap metal.

A spokesman from Lincs Fire and Rescue said: “Our incident log suggests it was started deliberately. It was at a scrap metal yard and there were two fires on the site, one was actually in a skip and the other was amongst the scrap.”

A spokesman from Lincs Police said: “We are liaising with the Fire Service in relation to the fire and will carry out any enquiries that may be necessary.”
