From Saturday 23rd November until Sunday 8th December, a donation station will be in store for customers and team members to donate their unwanted clothing and household goods.

The donation station project aims to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK by collecting goods to sell in the charity’s shops and the store is looking for good quality clothing, accessories, homewares, books, CDs and DVDs.

Each bag of items collected will be worth up to £30 for the charity - money which will help to develop newer, kinder treatments and get closer to cures.

Customers can pick up a bag from the store, before returning it between Saturday 23rd November and Sunday 8th December. Alternatively, any bag from home can be used instead.

Carol Hall, store manager, said: “We hope the donation station will encourage our loyal customers in Gainsborough to bring in plenty of their unwanted items, particularly as all the donations will help to keep our local Cancer Research UK stores stocked up and raising money.”

Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has helped save millions of lives, and is funded entirely by the public.

Maria Haslam, local fundraising manager at Cancer Research UK, said: “We’d like to thank the Gainsborough store for supporting us once again.”

“In the past, we’ve seen as much as £12,000 raised by a single Wilko donation station and we’re hoping for similar success this time around.”

“We hope local people will take advantage of this easy way to help us accelerate our progress and save more lives, especially just before Christmas when they may need a good clear out.”
