Funding boost for neighbourhood watch

NOTTS Neighbourhood Watch Association is to receive a funding boost of £14,500 to enable them to respond to community safety issues more effectively.

The association, which offers advice to local neighbourhood watch groups and works closely with the police to raise awareness on community safety issues, received the funding from Notts County Council.

They also work to encourage more people to get involved in their local scheme or set up a group where one does not exist.

The money will go into training and planned conferences over the next two years, which will recognise the achievements made by 30,000 volunteers involved in neighbourhood schemes across the county.
