Fun for all at summer fayre

VILLAGERS had hours of fun at a Vintage Summer Fayre at Gringley-On-The Hill.

St Peter’s C of E Primary School was the venue for the traditional celebration which featured a variety of attractions.

Stalls selling all sorts of wares like cakes, plants, and sweet treats did a roaring trade.

Meanwhile crowds flocked to the main arena where a tug-of-war was the main event.

A hog roast, pony rides, face painting a tea tent and even a beer tent made sure people of all ages were catered for.

“It was an excellent day and we were really lucky with the weather,” said Nikki Metcalfe who is joint chair of the St Peter’s parent and teacher association.

“There was a really good turn out and we raised over £2,000 towards some extra outdoor play equipment for the school.”
