Young and old enjoyed a wide range of activities – including everything from vintage car displays to the chance to test-drive a Segway.

Gainsborough Town Council activities officer Holly Parker said this year’s event was bigger and better than ever.

“It was such a nice day and we had a really fantastic turn out,” said Holly.

“So many people were involved - we had Marshall’s Tractor Club, Trent Valley Mini Owners Club, Gainsborough Model Railway, a vintage car display and the chance to have a go on a Segway which was amazing.”

“We had two big red vintage double-decker London buses which was quite a surreal thing to see in Gainsborough, and next year we’re hoping to have them shuttling people between the festival and Marshall’s Yard and the Market Place to make it more all-encompassing of Gaisnborough.”

She continued: “We usually hold the festival on Richmond Park, but last year it was really tight so we changed it to fit in a lot more and we had so much going on.”

A great of money was also raised for the mayor’s charity to train a guide dog for the blind.

“Our mayor Harry Clarke got really stuck in and was running a stall to raise money,” said Holly.

Holly added: “We’re always looking for people to get involved and volunteer at our events. Not many towns have so many great events like this put on for free, we’re very lucky.”

“It’s like a little family and we all club together, so if you’d like to help out then please get in touch.”
