The Standard has teamed up with the Citrus Cafe, which is located at the Retford and Gainsborough Garden Centre, Bar Road, Saundby, for this great offer.

The Citrus Cafe is set in a large converted greenhouse, with a vaulted glass roof and fruit bearing citrus trees, with the sound of lowing water rippling down a water feature.

Whatever time of day you visit there will be something which takes your fancy.

Between 9.30am and 11.30am you can enjoy a seven or 10 item breakfast.

Hot lunches are available from midday with regulars such as lasagne, wholetail scampi, quiche of the day and specials, including chicken tikka, liver and onions and fresh battered fish. All offered with hand cut chips or new potatoes.

Not forgetting Sunday roast dinners, with a choice of roast beef, turkey, pork or a vegetarian nut roast.

And if you don’t fancy anything too filling there are also freshly prepared to order paninis, toasties, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and home made soup.

And to finish off there is a great selection of puddings, cakes, gateaux and scones.

The Citrus Cafe is open seven days a week from 9.30am to 4pm.

As well as the cafe there is also the garden centre to look around, and there’s still time to plant up tubs and pots this summer.

The Retford and Gainsborough Garden Centre has some super offers on summer flowering plants and 50 per cent off many beautiful pots and planters.

It also has a fresh stock of winter flowering pansies and violas, which look good at this time of year and offer superb colour throughout the autumn and winter months.

August sees the return of spring flowering bulbs, with a very large selection including daffodils, narcissus, tulips, crocus and snowdrops, all ready to plant now for a fabulous spring display.

And there’s still time to plant autumn seed potatoes ready for Christmas dinner harvest.

The garden centre also stocks a large variety of food, feeders and accessories to keep any wild bird happily chirping every day.

And with benches, patio sets, fire pits, gazebos, parasols and much more you can find the full outdoor experience for relaxing or entertaining outside.

If you’re looking to plan ahead, September onwards is the perfect time to plant hedging, trees, shrubs or seed a new lawn, while the soil is warm after the summer months and you can pick up a large variety of compost, shrubs and trees for every season’s display, with friendly knowledgeable staff on hand to answer any question.

The garden centre also has a large indoor gift area which has clothes, shoes, cards, garden ornaments and gifts.

The centre is open daily from 8.30am to 5.30pm.

Readers can take up this offer of a free coffee or tea for two, worth up to £4.40, by simply taking the voucher out of this week’s Standard and presenting it at the time of purchase from Thursday, August 6, until Wednesday, August 19.
