Your Standard has teamed up with the Citrus Café, which is located at the Retford and Gainsborough Garden Centre, Bar Road, Saundby, for this great offer.

The Citrus Café is set in a large converted greenhouse, with a vaulted glass roof and fruit bearing citrus trees, with the sound of flowing water rippling down a water feature.

Whatever time of day you visit, there will be something which takes your fancy.

Until 11.30am, visitors can enjoy a full English breakfast which come in three sizes.

Hot lunches are available from noon until 2.30pm with regulars such as lasagne, wholetail scampi, quiche of the day and specials, including chicken tikka, liver and onions and fresh battered fish.

All are offered with hand-cut chips or new potatoes.

And that is not forgetting Sunday roast dinners, with a choice of roast beef, turkey, pork or a vegetarian nut roast.

And if you do not fancy anything too filling, there are also freshly-prepared paninis, toasties, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and homemade soup available all day.

And to finish off there is a great selection of puddings, cakes, gateaux and scones.

From Sunday, November 1, a two-course Christmas menu will be available and is served daily until Wednesday, December 23. Call in for a menu. Pre-booking is required.

The Citrus Café is open seven days a week, from 9.30am to 4pm.

As well as the café, there is also the garden centre to look around and with summer baskets no longer looking there best, you can still add colour to your garden throughout autumn and winter with its range of varied winter basket, tub and border plants now available, including violas, winter flowering pansies, cyclamen and many foliage plants.

Now is also a great time to tidy up the garden and refresh the borders by adding some winter flowering shrubs, or even sow a new lawn, while the soil is still warm after summer.

Pop over for all the stock and tools you will need to transform your garden, or if you are not sure what to buy just speak to a member of the team, who will be able to offer their help or advice.

And not forgetting our feathered friends too.

The garden centre stocks a large range of seeds, feed and feeders, together with bird baths and tables.

And as we head towards the festive season, the shop has many new gift lines arriving weekly, from hampers, ornaments and candles to scarves, hats, shoes and clothing, many with great reductions off recommended retail prices and which will make ideal Christmas gifts.

The centre is open daily from 8.30am to 5.30pm.

Readers can take up this offer of a free coffee or tea for two, worth up to £4.40, by simply taking the voucher in this week’s Standard and presenting it at the time of purchase from Thursday, October 15, until Wednesday, October 29.
