Former carer charged with sex assaults

A FORMER Bassetlaw Hospital worker has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting three elderly women in his care.

Matthew Shah, 23, of Savile Street, Retford, has today (Friday) been charged with three counts of sexual assault.

Shah was working as a health care assistant at the Worksop hospital at the time of the alleged assaults in 2010.

He has since been dismissed as an employee of the hospital.

The alleged assaults relate to three women aged 64, 84 and 88, who were receiving care at the hospital.

Shah has been released on bail and will appear at Worksop Magistrates Court on Thursday 29th September.
