Foodfest heading for Thoresby Park

THORESBY Park is gearing up to host its annual Winter FoodFest celebrating all things foodie on 19th and 20th November.

The popular event, which runs from 10am-4pm on both days, combines a retail Food Fair and Kitchen Theatre featuring talks and demos by local chefs.

Organiser Alison Lowe said the event promises to feature a wealth of local stallholders, with the vast majority coming from Notts and surrounding counties.

“Our aim is to promote local companies and products, helping visitors to be aware of just what a fantastic array of food we have in this region,” she said.

Most of the stalls will be based indoors in Thoresby’s picturesque Riding Hall, with the Kitchen Theatre operating on both days.

Alison said Saturday’s programme will feature a series of short demos by local chefs, adding there will be a different theme on Sunday.

“Sunday’s a bit different. We are delighted to welcome back the Lowdham Bookcase, who are sponsoring several events with a literary food theme,” she said.

“The star of the show is Lucas Hollweg, food writer for the Sunday Times. There will also be a cheese and port tasting, and a ‘Winter Picnic’ demo by local cook Jackie Skinner.

Admission to the FoodFest and parking at Thoresby is free.

There will be a small charge for participation in demos in the Kitchen Theatre.
