Flooding hits parts of Notts and Derbyshire following heavy rain overnight

PEOPLE are being urged to take care after localised flooding hit the area.

Notts Police have warned motorists to be extra careful on the roads following last night’s heavy downpour.

A flood warning has been put in place by the Environment Agency for low lying agricultural land and roads in the Worksop area.

These include Priorswell Road, Central Avenue, Steeley Lane, Snape Lane at Serlby, Mill Lane and Great North Road at Scrooby.

The level at the Blyth river gauge was 1.51 metres, with river levels rising.

There are reports that parts of Station Road in Clowne has been flooded as well as the B6418 Buttermilk Lane.
