Flat fire in Worksop after woman left something on hob

RESIDENTS are warned to be careful when cooking after fire crews were called out to a blaze in a Worksop flat last night (Monday 30th April)

Crews from Worksop and Retford arrived at the flat on Westway in Worksop at around 7.34pm, after a woman had left something on the cooker and then gone out.

The fire was extinguished by 7.48pm and luckily no one was hurt and only minor damage was caused.

A spokesman from Worksop Fire Station said: “We would like to remind everyone to take extra care with appliances when it comes to putting things on the cooker and leaving things plugged in.”
