First meeting on transport

Twenty two residents from Walkerith in the north to Marton in the south attended the inaugural meeting of Gainsborough Rail and Bus Users Group (GRaB).

The transport users group was formed on Saturday 28th April at Morton Village Hall, chaired by Keith panter of Morton.

The committee will now prepare a constitution and outline plan covering all forms of transport in the area, and report back to another public meeting before the end of July.

Mr Panter said: “Following the success of the campaign to reinstate the bus to Morton other, transport issues have come to light, such as accessibility for disabled people, demand for a bus to Doncaster, better train timings for workers in the morning, the establishment of a station adoption group for Lea Road and lots more.”

He said these and other transport needs would be included in the outline plan GRaB is preparing.
