The blaze broke out yesterday evening (Thursday, April 21) just off West Drayton Avenue, near to Thaymar Ice Cream Parlour, in Bothamsall.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This was quite a significant fire which involved a vast amount of woodland, grass and undergrowth.

“The crews worked extremely hard for more than three hours to bring the fire under control and the incident to a close.

Firefighters from across the district battled the blaze for more than three hours.

"They used hose reels, main jets and beaters to deal with this.”

It comes after a huge fire at an industrial park on Plum Tree Road, Bircotes, on Tuesday evening (April 20).

A plume of black smoke billowed from the fire which could be seen all over Worksop and into South Yorkshire.

The Guardian is currently waiting on the outcome of a fire investigation into the blaze.
