Fine after haircut row

A CLOWNE man turned abusive during a dispute over a hair-cut, Chesterfield magistrates heard.

Police were told a man had been shouting, swearing and demanding a free hair-cut on 23rd March.

Dennis Gorton, 54, of North Road was arrested and a breath test indicated he had drunk almost three times the limit for motorists.

“He appeared to be drunk. He swore and said: ‘I ain’t done owt. I’m not drunk’,” said prosecutor Fernando Rodrigues.

Gorton admitted being drunk and disorderly. He said a stylist had made a mess of his hair and was told to go back to the salon the following week.

“I went back and she said it would cost more. There was an argument but I wasn’t as drunk as they made out,” he said.

He was fined £90, with £85 costs.
