Fatal road crash in Gainsborough

Two other Retford residents were also injured.

Emergency services were called to Thorndyke Way in Gainsborough at about 7.15pm where a grey Vauxhall Zafira had left the road and overturned.

The driver, a 58-year old Retford man and his 54-year-old wife, who was a rear seat passenger, were treated for minor injuries.

The front seat passenger, an 83-year-old woman from Retford died.

Thorndyke Way was closed for some hours after the accident .

Police are asking for anyone who was in the area and saw the Vauxhall before it left the road to contact them.
