Experience what it is like to be a firefighter at family fun day

Running from 10am until 3pm, there will be fun for all the family, with plenty of activities taking place throughout the day at the fire station in Nelson Street, Gainsborough.

Experience what it’s like to be a firefighter in a real smoke-filled room, take a look at the specialist water rescue kit the crews use to save lives out on the water, and see first-hand how they tackle a road traffic collision.

And little ones won’t feel left out either, there’ll be the usual fun and games as well as a mini firefighter obstacle course where they can test out their skills.

Spencer Chapman, deputy divisional commander, said: “Our open days are always a big hit with the locals and firefighters alike and I’m sure this year will be just the same.”

All money raised will go towards The Fire Fighters Charity and Gainsborough LIVES.
