Exciting plans for first Gainsboro’ 10k

Following Gainsborough and Morton Striders’ strong showing in the recent West Lindsey Series, a period of relative quiet on the road has been more than matched with some exciting developments.

Inspired by local events including the Gainsborough 5k and Lincoln 10k, club secretary Kevin Housham has been working feverishly with the rest of Team Striders to confirm the final details, including the route and the design of an impressive medal, for the first Annual Gainsborough and Morton 10k.

Taking place on 4th March 2012 with open-entry to a field of 500 runners, the course will start in Morton and take in the villages of East Stockwith and Walkerith, before returning to Morton in a very flat route that will suit both novices and those looking for personal bests.

The event is being strongly supported by Gainsborough’s Rotary Club and local athletic outfitter, Metres To Miles, with club sponsor DDM Residential also providing significant assistance for the race.
