A bailiff forced his way into the address on Appleton Road, on July 11, and was confronted by Jodie Jegasothy “so much so that the bailiff retreated outside and called police,” said prosecutor Robert Carr.

She was arrested and bailed on condition she only return to Appleton Road with an officer to collect her belongings.

David Grant, mitigating, said Jegasothy was listening to music through headphones when she suddenly became aware of the bailiff in her house, and she had not received any notice of the eviction date.

When she returned to the property she met her landlord the next day, and arranged to collect her belonings in a week. But when the landlord contacted police to organise an officer, the bail act offence became known.

Mr Grant said the rent had been paid up to date.

Jegasothy, 32, of Mavis Wood Mews, Blidworth, admitted resisting an enforcement officer and breaking bail conditions, when she appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court, on Friday.

She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £30 costs and a £30 government surcharge.
