Escaped prisoner back in jail after burglaries

A NOTTS burglar who escaped from an open prison and continued to commit crime has been jailed for four more years.

Glyn John Paul Brookes admitted escaping from lawful custody and three burglaries - two in Notts and one in North Yorkshire - since his escape, at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday.

The 38-year-old also asked for another 19 burglaries, including six in Notts, to be taken into consideration.

His four year sentence is on top of what he already has to serve. Brookes was four years into a 12 year sentence when he failed to return to North Sea camp prison from temporary leave in July.
