Eric Pickles intervenes in Notts County Council service cuts
COMMUNITY secretary Eric Pickles has written to Notts County Council about its ‘disproportionate’ cuts to the voluntary sector.
Mr Pickles has intervened in the authority’s cuts to services, according to the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).
The Conservative-led council has cut its voluntary sector grants budget for 2011/12 by about 34 per cent, compared with a cut of about eight per cent in its grant from central government, the NCVO says.
