It was the first day of autumn on Sunday 22nd September 2013 and boy does the weather know exactly when to shift.

Driving to work most days this week has required fog lights. Hard to believe how quickly things change.

It wasn’t too long ago that we were in the garden catching some rays and suddenly we are hunting out the winter coat and picking up a few ‘bits’ for Christmas.

In recent weeks we have seen an increase in reports of shed burglaries in the South-East.

Unless we get a surprise Indian Summer, we’re at that time of year when we are contemplating doing that last mow until spring. When it’s done, make sure you secure your sheds and garages. For advice on shed security give us a call.

Be vigilant around yours and your neighbours’ gardens and report suspicious activity to police.

In other news, it’s been great to see that reports of antisocial behaviour has reduced somewhat in recent months.

We have also been doing a lot of proactive work in Manton over the last few weeks and, as a result of a number of warrants relating to drugs and theft, we made two arrests. We have also located and recovered two stolen cars.

If you suspect someone of being involved in illegal drugs or the theft and handling of stolen goods call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously.

On the subject of motors, we have also recently seized a number of vehicles without insurance.
