ELECTION: Full list of Bassetlaw candidates announced

The full list of candidates to contest the Bassetlaw Parliamentary constituency has been announced this week.

A poll for the election of Member of Parliament for Bassetlaw will be held on Thursday 7th May 2015, between 7am-10pm. The candidates standing are as follows:

Sarah Downes of the Conservative Party; Leon Duveen, of the Liberal Democrats; John Mann, of the Labour Party; David Scott, of UKIP, and Kris Wragg, of the Green Party.

Mr Mann had a majority of 8,215 at the last election in 2010.

Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Monday 20th April.

Applications, ammendments or cancellations of postal votes and applications, ammendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Queens Buldings, Potter Street, Worksop, Notts, by 5pm on Tuesday 21st April. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 28th April 2015.

There will also be district council elections taking place on 7th May. Last year Labour retained their control of Bassetlaw. Labour kept all their seats and gained one Conservative seat in Worksop South.
