Successful staff and caring parents at nurseries in Chesterfield and Clowne have been celebrating after their nurseries have been judged to be among the best in the country.
Children 1st @ Clowne was found to be Outstanding In All Areas following its recent inspection by education watchdogs Ofsted while Children 1st @ Chesterfield Royal Hospital was named as one of the top three nurseries in the East Midlands by leading peer review site DayNurseries.co.uk.
Margaret Mason, Founder and Chief Executive of Children 1st Day Nurseries, said: “This is a wonderful affirmation of the inspirational leadership, hard work, dedication and commitment shown by all involved with our Clowne nursery.
“Only 12per cent of nurseries in England have been rated as outstanding which shows the importance of this judgement. It is testament to the excellent partnership shared between our wonderful children, parents and staff and the wider Children 1st family that we have achieved this top rating.”
Children 1st @ Clowne’s Ofsted judgment means Children 1st Day Nurseries can boast a hat-trick of Ofsted Outstanding successes. The Clowne nursery joins Children 1st @ Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Children 1st @ St Peter and St Paul, in Calow, as having been rated as Outstanding in All Areas.
Ofsted recognised the Clowne nursery’s pursuit of excellence and it was praised for demonstrating an uncompromising and highly successful drive to improve, or maintain, the highest levels of achievement and personal development.
The strong relationships between staff and parents and their involvement in the children’s learning was seen as a contributing factor to the progress made by youngsters.
The Ofsetd inspector reported every child is known well and each receives good support which results in them making ’the very best progress’.
The Clowne nursery manager Rachel Kitts said: “I’m delighted. As a team we’re committed to providing stimulating and challenging learning opportunities which motivate children to learn and our success with this is clearly demonstrated in this report.
“I’m especially pleased the report commented on the superb systems we have in place to support children with special needs. The whole team at Children 1st puts 100per cent into ensuring consistently high standards.”
Children 1st @ Chesterfield Royal Hospital, which is also rated as Outstanding in All Areas, received an award after ranking third in the Top 10 Day Nurseries in the East Midlands.
Nursery Manager Sharon Morrell said: “It is wonderful to be recognised as one of the top three nurseries in the East Midlands.”
