Sue Noyes, the former head of the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, has been made interim chief executive after Phil Milligan resigned in August.

Her role is exepected to last at least nine months while a permanent successor is found.

Ms Noyes said: “I’m looking forward to getting started at EMAS.”

“I know that all staff in the organisation are committed to serving the people of the East Midlands in the best way possible and I see my role as helping the organisation reach its full potential in this mission.”

EMAS chairman Jon Towler was confident in Ms Noyes’ ability.

He said: “Sue brings with her a proven track record in changing the culture of organisations to get the best out of people.”

“I’m sure that, with mine and the board’s support, she will help EMAS reach and exceed its targets as well as providing an excellent service to the people of the East Midlands.”
