The Worksop golfer, in action this weekend at the US PGA Championship – the final major of 2016 – has renewed a sponsorship deal with Dunlop that contains a huge potential bonus.

Westwood, who tees off at Baltusrol in New Jersey today (Thursday) alongside Brandt Snedeker and Brooks Koepa, has extended his deal with Dunlop for a further three years.

A statement from the golf manufacturer said: “Should Westwood lift the US PGA Championship trophy come Sunday, the Worksop Wonder will land a massive £2 million.

“The deal stipulates that the Ryder Cup stalwart is entitled to scoop £2 million for a major championship victory.”

Westwood finished T43rd in the event last year at Whistling Straits but his best finish was a share of third place in 2009.

The 43-year-old is still seeking his first major title.
