Drunk reveller punched club worker after being refused entry

A drunk reveller who punched a nightclub worker three times because he was refused entry will learn his fate next month.

Michael Regulski had been trying to get into the Late Lounge on Mansfield’s Leeming Street in the early hours of February 7, but was refused for being intoxicated.

Mansfield Magistrates’ Court was told how the 31-year-old was not happy at the decision and confronted a doorman.

He punched the worker in the face, backed off then punched him again twice more.

Regulski, of John Woodhead Court, Mansfield, was arrested but said during interview that he could not remember anything.

In Mitigation, Yvonne Wragg told the court: “It was a spur of the moment assault that took place, the victim was in the wrong place in the wrong time.”

She said Regulski was a full-time joiner/carpenter, had two children and was married.

The last time he had been before the courts was 2012, when he got a suspended sentence for threatening behaviour.

A probation officer said they needed time to prepare a report on Regulski, and the case was put back to March 16 for sentencing.
