Drunk man spat at cop

A DRUNKEN Clowne man saw in the New Year in a police cell after spitting in an officer’s face.

Lee Boden, 29, of Westlea, went to his ex-girlfriend’s home in Clay Cross on 31st December 31 and police were called after he banged on doors and windows.

He was abusive towards them and arrested after he pushed an officer.

Becky Mahon, prosecuting, told Chesterfield magistrates that he shouted and swore and spat into Special Constable Ian Jackson’s face.

Boden admitted assaulting the officer and being drunk and disorderly. He also admitted theft of razor blades from Chesterfield Co-Op on 3rd November.

Presiding magistrate Tim Norton imposed a one-year probation supervision order and ordered him to pay £50 compensation to the officer and £10 to the Co-Op, with £80 costs.
