Drinker did pub damage

A DRINKER caused damage in a Barlborough pub after being refused service, magistrates heard.

Leighton Parker - a regular at the Rose and Crown - was declined further drinks because of his behaviour towards another customer.

His response was to punch out at a charity box chained to the bar and shout: “You don’t know who I am.”

As he left he grabbed a gaming machine, tried to overturn it and damaged its rear socket.

Prosecuting, Becky Mahon, told the Chesterfield court that the damage was reckless, not intentional.

Parker, 25, of Linnet Way, Clowne, admitted the damage. Magistrates imposed a one-year conditional discharge and £120 in fines and costs.
